About this Blog

This Blog is my little way of providing an on-line forum for me as the Chaplain to interract with both far/near and present/past members of the Chapel of Grace, University of Maiduguri. I hope this would be found useful and enjoyable by the Council, Chaplaincy, Congregation and all.

Though Internet access is expensive and frustratingly sluggish in this part of the world, yet it provides the best virtual rendezvous without the limitations of distance and time. However, I must confess that working this Blog has kept me away from my beloved wife (Ogochukwu) and lovely children (Davidson, Victor, Shirley and Noella). With gratitude to God, I salute their resilience and bless them in the Name of the Lord Jesus.

The Church of God comprises those granted heritage access (through Christ) to God’s Royal Tabernacle. These are God’s Priests and Sons irrespective of biological gender. Royalties and Priests constantly develop and discipline themselves for sanctity and integrity, ministry and mastery.

The Church is all about helping humanity out of divine wrath and judgment in order to lead them in triumph over sin and Satan, and in dominion with Christ for eternity. Satan rules by adversity, survival of the fittest, depravity, destruction and death; Christ rules by compassion, redemption, remission, support for the weak, and eternal life.

My conviction is that the biblical role of a Pastor (Chaplain) is to ensure that the Church is taught and shown both why and how to:
1. observe Christ’s commands (Matt 28:18-20), as well as
2. understand the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:20, 27).

Thus equipped the Saints can:
1. labour for the ministry in unity;
2. grow up to maturity in faith and knowledge; and
3. practice the truth in love (Eph 4:11-15).

This is God’s counsel for the Church’s sustainability in a perverse and perishing world.

This is great. But how do we understand Gods counsel.

  2. CHAPLAIN says:

    God bless you,

God’s counsel is all the principles and precepts about God’s plans/programmes, promises, pleasure, power, preferences and purposes, deduced or derived from a comprehensive grasp of the Word of God as a whole.

So to understand God’s counsel begins with understanding the Scripture with a heart filled with (i.e. yielded to, controlled by and inspired by) the Holy Spirit. The more we understand God’s Word so do we understand God’s counsel.

Thanks so much for your comment.

      Thanks,I’m grateful

      • CHAPLAIN says:

When Christ was born, the Christmas Angelic carol sang “peace and goodwill towards all humanity” and announced “good tidings of joy”. May this month of December in which the Church marks the birth of Christ bring you good times in Jesus’s Name.

why the controversies about the church divisions are becoming more acceptable without caution? Every body want to be the head and not the tail. i wonder how God sees us.

    • CHAPLAIN says:

Divisions in the Church has become “acceptable” because it is almost seen as private business where congregation hunted as customers and downliners, not as saints unto Christ. . The Apostles warned against it, but our generation has made up their mind never to listen
      1Ti 6:5
      (5) Perverse wranglings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw yourself.

      2Pe 2:1-3
      (1) But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who shall secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
      (2) And many shall follow their shameful ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
      (3) And through covetousness shall they with false words exploit you: whose judgment of old now lingers not, and their destruction slumbers not.

The problem is that the “Churches” have become inneffective for the Kingdom of God and serve only personal temporal appetites and needs rather than God’s eternal purpose. May God help us.
